James is a well-respected orthopaedic surgeon and Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He specializes in the management and surgical treatment of shoulder and elbow problems. He has extensive education and training in shoulder and elbow repair. State-of-the-art, minimally invasive, arthroscopic techniques are used whenever possible to help accelerate the rehabilitation process for conditions such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, tennis elbow, and shoulder or elbow stiffness.
Dr. Gregory received his undergraduate degree from Duke University, and graduated magna cum laude. He graduated medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and was inducted into the AOA medical honor society. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush University in Chicago, IL, followed by a prestigious fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Washington University in Saint Louis.
Dr. Gregory understands the full spectrum of shoulder and elbow conditions, including the unique demands of the overhead athlete, or the daily struggles caused by persistent shoulder or elbow pain. He maintains an active interest in clinical research, and has extensive experience with non-operative management, as well as complex arthroscopic and open surgical techniques, including shoulder replacement, elbow replacement, muscle transfers, trauma, and revision shoulder or elbow surgery.
